My son has always been the best eater. He eats three big meals a day plus a snack, and there are many food items that he will always eat. All of a sudden in the last week, he is picking at his food, and many of his staples (bananas, avocados, blueberries, chicken) are going straight to the floor. I know "they" say he won't starve himself, but it's stressing me out! He's a big boy, and he needs to eat. We went to Chick Fil A for lunch, and I barely got a few bites in him. I tried to give him peaches and blueberries when we got home, and he wouldn't touch them.
Has your toddler gone through phases like this? Any food ideas that always win them over? I guess I could feed him junk for every meal because he'd probably be on board with that...but I want him to eat reasonably well.
Re: Toddler food issue
He could be teething. He isn't chewing on his hands or drooling like he was a few weeks ago, but he was randomly awake in the middle of the night last night. He never wakes up during the night unless something is wrong.
This kid has never refused food, but he's due to get his canines next, and I have heard those can be rough.
Crazy Christmas Kids!
Ditto. I made a conscious decision not to worry about how much my kids ate, barring health concerns. Some days they eat a lot and some days they don't. I figure they know their body best and whether they are hungry or not.
Ditto. Some days Aiden cleans his plate, others he just picks at it. His new thing is stacking it up and it takes him forever to eat now. I'm sure it's just a phase and I don't worry about it much.
