haha I just read that post as well. What did she say in the teen mom post?
I honestly don't even remember! That thread was ridiculously long. But I don't recall her saying anything worthy of deleting her bump account. I'm sure someone probably has some of the original screen shots - we just have to wait for it....
I was just catching up on it. Were they juciey ones?
Not particularly. How are you feeling? I'm going to bug you now when I see you to make sure you're good! : )
Bug away! lol I am feeling good. Drinking my water and making sure I feel him kick. I'm just nervous that it is low this early. But good news is as of now baby is measuring on track.

I honestly can't remember what was said directly to her - but usually yes, some women on here are just downright mean to some of the others. And it's not just stating your opinions or point of view - it's a message board so that's going to happen. It's the ones who always seem to make it their goal to put down others on here. Some people do say ridiculous things, (and some of it may be MUD too) but if they are that clueless, I think they'd be more receptive to honest advice that can be given without all the extra "snoot" That's JMHO.

Oh and I'm not trying to throw out that whole "The bump is for support" mantra that everyone likes to make fun of. I'm certainly not looking to any internet strangers for support, I just think that that's how some of these people that feel like they need to delete their accounts feel.

no, honestly i agree with you... there are plenty of harpies and cliques that seem to relish being nasty. but in this case, it seemed like she went out of her way to try to be offended. no one was saying that having a college education makes you a better mom, until she kept pushing that point. and ignoring the idea that maybe a degree is a good thing to have in your arsenal is kind of silly. there are successful high school grad entrepreneurs, but that takes a lot more work than getting a degree, i think, and it's far rarer.

Very true. I guess that's what she felt like she needed to do (Delete her account) I still obtain a wealth of knowledge from the Bump and I'm not going to give it up because people don't agree with everything I say or believe. I say ignore the snark and post elsewhere if you want - there are options.
guess that's what i get for going to lunch. it was an interesting topic and devolved into whether you need college to be a good mom.
i was surprised that the thread was barely longer (numerically) when I came back...but apparently that's because some people deleted their responses. so it goes.

The poster that deleted all of her posts made it into that.
Never once did anyone say you needed a college degree to be a good parent. It was simply stated that why would you TRY to get pregnant at an age when you only have a high school degree? It can't be denied that it is easier to be financially stable with a college education these days.
Everyone acknowledged that accidents happen and people let pregnant young - the college conversation was aimed towards people intentionally trying to get pregnant when they could be furthering their education (be it college or technical training) and making a better life for their future children.
I didn't think anyone was being mean in that thread.. it really seem like a difference in opinion.
I agree someone could be a good mother at a young age, but I said if they didn't have a degree when they started a family.. it would be a good idea to work towards having one for security and financial reasons.
I think maybe this was a build up of other threads that were snarky.. and it was a "last straw" broke the camel's back that lead to the GBCB.
I missed all of this but saw on the Aug. board where she put that mainly it was because of the 2nd tri board? I LOVE our board! Sorry she had a bad experience, but I've always gotten answers to my questions/concerns with little or no snarkiness. Too bad...
riserst: you're super famous now! I thought (and still do think) it's an interesting topic, as well. There were some good points thrown out all over the place - good for perspective.

where is it? i thought the thread seemed a lot shorter too.
It's on the August board

So I take it she was a young mom?
I think she was

I totally did a post a run - sorry! The dogs wanted to be walked!
I think she was trying to make a big deal out of nothing. I honestly don't know how she got so offended.
I've been mean before but that thread was not a time where I was mean!
Where is her GCBC?

ETA: Sorry not clicky. This is not my computer and mine auto did it for me.
The poster that deleted all of her posts made it into that.

Holy cow.. I am famous! I had no idea that my original post stirred up all of that...
I thought it was a rather interesting post myself!!!
Thank you.. thank you...
The funny thing is I thought the thread died..I will have to read to catch up on all the responses.
