I'm due on Christmas Eve ... When I told my mom, she laughed her ass off because my birthday is Dec 22. Every year, she complains about spending Christmas in the hospital because of ME. I guess turnabout's fair play, eh?
Anyone else due ridiculously close to Christmas?
Re: Who else is having a Christmas baby?
Well my due date is the day after Christmas, unless it changes after my ultrasound on the 4th. None the less, it should be right around there. :P
Wonder how Christmas will be this year? I thought about maybe having Christmas early, but watch, then I'd probably go 2 weeks late or something.
Dec 22 is a great day to have a baby! But then, I might be biased lol.
I expect to get a lot of teasing from Mom, since I put her through the same thing. One of our friends who has an annual Christmas Eve party has offered to move the party to the hospital, if needed. Another friend warned me not to ever combine birthday into Christmas -- *facepalm* -- not something you need to worry about from a mom whose own birthday is so close to Christmas!

One tip I'll give you guys about having Christmas babies -- don't try to do birthday parties on your kid's actual birthday. We tried it a few times when I was a kid, and it just doesn't work. People have too much going on, they're going out of town, doing last minute shopping etc. When we tried to have birthday ON my birthday, hardly anyone ever showed up. If we did it a week or two ahead of time, though, we had no problems.
Also, don't wrap presents in Christmas paper. I've always hated that!

My daughter was born 12/23. She was due 12/31. I wanted her on 12/22 SO BAD. 22 is kinda a common birthday in our family so I wanted her to have it too.
So basically...love your birthday.
And yeah, we came home from the hospital with DD on Christmas Day. But I hate Christmas so I didn't care. I got the best Christmas gift I'll ever get in my life. Poo on the people who think Dec is a bad month to have a kid.
I hated it when I was a kid - I couldn't really have birthday parties, and I've gotten more birthday/Christmas presents than you can shake a stick at. But I've come to grips with it as an adult - I look it as a extra beautiful time of the year to celebrate my life, what with all the decorations and whatnot. And people, in general, are happier that time of year too. And the people in my life now are a lot more respectful that Dec 22 is my birthday, and don't just think of it as being a day right before Christmas ... if that makes sense.
I actually think it's kind of cool that my own LO is due so close to my birthday - ironic, but cool. Part of me even hopes that s/he'll be born on Dec 22. I sorta think it would be cool for us to share a bday.
