and SIL just chose the bridesmaid dresses today.
Anyone ever been in this situation?
The good thing is, the dresses are A-line so they will be pretty forgiving. I guess I just need to get measured, order a size based on my current measurements, and have it altered in September. I am trying not to be stressed about this, but I am...
Re: In SIL's wedding 5 weeks after giving birth...
Womens' ribcages expand?? Really? I didn't realize that. I knew the bust measurement would be a toss up but didn't even think about the ribs being part of that. Pregnancy is a weird thing... haha
Yep. As your little peanut gets bigger and takes up more room, your belly isn't the only thing that expands to make room (and of course, your hips expand for the whole birthing process). Although when the baby lodges body parts in your ribcage, you won't feel like it's gotten any bigger, but as I learned postpartum, it sure does!
Interesting. Boobs, stomach, hips, etc. I had thought about but this had never crossed my mind. Just part of the adventure!
My biggest worry would just be having a seamstress on call who could work on it maybe a week before the wedding, so you have as much time as possible to see what your shape will be.
FWIW, most women end up with bigger boobs after birth, at least for a little while. I didn't. Mine got 2 cup sizes larger while pg the first time, but went down a cup size almost immediately after birth (ok, so that's still 1 cup larger than I was originally, but it was totally unexpected to me)
My sister was in my wedding 10 days after giving birth! She worked with a seamstress just days before the wedding so that she could get the most accurate size of what she would be.
My boobs didn't change at all during pregnancy but did once DS was born so I would definitely allow for extra room in that area.
