everyone asks how i'm feeling. and i get that, i think that's a pretty standard response... you find out someone's pregnant, the next words out of your mouth are "oh, how are you feeling?" but i don't know how to really answer that. no one wants to hear how my woman parts ache, so i just say "a little tired, but good!"
i'm just wondering, does anyone say anything different? like "well, i haven't pooped for 3 days, so that's kinda bumming me out" or "i puked up my breakfast, how are you?"
Re: what do you say when people ask how you're feeling (all tris welcome)
that's a good response.
BFP #2 - 12/9/09 After being on bedrest for 10 weeks due to TTTS and hospital bedrest for 4 weeks due to PPROM, my sticky babies are here! Born at 32 weeks!!
Most of the time I just say "great!" because that's the truth. Sometimes I will say "good, but a little tired" especially if it is someone from work asking
.
I think I was really annoyed when I was ttcal when pg ladies would utter even a slight complaint about being pregnant to me and I just don't want to do the same to someone else, so I am particularly careful about what I say to people I am not close with.
I tell them with a smile on my face! And say that I know it's a good thing.
What I say most of the time: "Good!" *big smile*
What I think: "Holy crap! In such a short time, my entire life is going to change! I'm so happy but, really, how could I not be going crazy? And I love my baby so much already. I'm ready to see her right now! But if this little girl kicks me in that spot one more time, I might ground her for life as soon as she's here! I'm not walking, sitting, or even breathing normally right now, not to mention the burning pain that just shot through my boob as I've been talking to you, so don't mind if I start getting a little handsy with my self. How are you doing?"
I usually just say okay or good. It?s written on my face if it?s otherwise. But I am almost to the point where I?m so sick of that question I am gonna start telling them the truth about not pooping for 5 days, my chub rub, back aches, sore crotch and lack of sleep.
The good news is this question is a little less painful in Spanish. Most people ask como va el bebe like how?s the baby doing instead of how are YOU feeling.
