Sometimes as a working mom I find it hard to imagine travelling w/o him because he's now getting to that age where I would WANT him to see all the new and exciting things. As much as I would enjoy a romantic weekend with hubby, I'm much more excited to take J to the beach for the first time.
Even tomorrow, I got all excited to see that there's a strawberry festival nearby until I remembered that the IL's are babysitting most of the day. (They wanted to, and we need to babyproof anyway.)
Re: Speaking of travelling w/o baby...
Oh, man...those boys in their sharp little suits would be going everywhere with me, too!
We don't have a lot of extra money to travel, but we are going to the beach (DH's family has a small trailer there) next month with just the 3 of us. We will also visit my sister in Philly soon (and I can't wait to go to the Please Touch museum now that he's getting into that stuff) and some friends in San Antonio later this fall. J will definitely be going on all of those with us!
To each their own.
We are going on a 3 day cruise without LO for my bday. He goes to bed so early that it would not be the best idea to take him so he'll be staying with gma.
But we do take him everywhere else, though.
Absolutely...I'm not discounting anyone who travels without baby! I would love to do both, we just don't have enough time and money to take trips that often, so for me personally, I'm choosing to bring him. I think I would only take LO on a cruise if it were a family cruise, so that g'parents could help watch him a couple of nights while DH and I went out!
that is what we did, my sister and I paid my mom's way for the cruise. She watched DS at night. We have left them overnight but never to go out of town. But a cruise with LO would be very tempting. Especially a short cruise.
