I've never had one in my life. I don't think I have one now since I have no pain or burning when I pee, but some of the symptoms fit. How did you find out you had a UTI, or was it completely obvious?
I had one around 18 weeks and had absolutely no clue (and I have had my fair share of UTIs before). I wasn't peeing more, I didn't have burning when I peed, or anything else I think of as a symptom.
The only thing was contractions and lower back pain - I had no clue that UTIs can cause contractions. I went to L&D on a Saturday and the first thing they did was a urinalysis to test for bacteria. It came back positive so they started me on an antibiotic.
they told me that I had them at *almost* EVERY appointment when pg with DS (3). I had no symptoms (other than when I had a kidney infection). I was on many anti-biotics throughout my pregnancy. I am now 31 weeks along and have had no UTI yet! No idea what is different but I'm enjoying the lack of pills that I need to take this time around!!
I'm on #3 since March 5... and had several in previous years. I honestly had no idea I had the last two. Parly because I pee alot anyways, so that wasn't a huge red flag for me. Cramping, pain in lower back is often a sign, increased need to urinate, with less coming out. I found out in the ER with two for preterm labor, this time at my Dr office for preterm labor at a routine apt yesterday,.

I just found out I had one on Monday. I was having just a bit of burning and mentioned it when I was in for my NST test. Of course, you pee in a cup at every single appointment you go to (me 3 times a week now) and so they sent it to the hospital lab and it came back positive for UTI. They started me on antibiotics right away and I can tell it is getting better but still have the urge to pee like every half an hour.
If you think you have one I would have them test you just to be safe so you don't end up with a kidney infection or worse PTL, as sometimes they don't test for that (my office doesn't unless you mention it to them).

What are you experiencing?
I'm having some major back pain, particularly on the right side, but it's mid back, and pain around my ribs on the right side. But it could also be pregnancy related. My urine is pretty light in colour, but has just recently developed a strong odor and I seem to be peeing a bit more, but that's a pregnancy thing right? I'm having lots of BHs, but I've had those all along, so it's hard to tell if it's any different. All of my "symptoms" are also symptoms of pregnancy as well. Arg!

I had my appointment last Thursday, but I'm not sure if they check for UTIs, they just dip a stick for protein and sugar. I don't have another appointment until next Thursday.
I've had 6 UTIs in the past 5 years or so. The most recent was just a week ago (I'm still on the meds).
My most obvious symptoms are 1) as soon as I pee I immediately feel the strong urge to pee again while I'm still sitting on the toilet even though there's nothing in there, 2) the urge to pee does not dissipate between bathroom trips, 3) as I'm finishing peeing I have a mild to moderate burning sensation, and 4) I have at times run a slight fever.
On April Fool's Day, I started having contractions-- I thought they were BH, but they kept getting closer & closer together. I also had to pee about every 5 minutes... I called my OB & he recommended that I come in ASAP to get checked out. Called DH & since it was April Fool's Day, he thought I was kidding when I said, "Um, I think I might be in labor." Yeah. Nice. Well, three hours at the birthing suite & they let us know that I had a really bad UTI which was causing contractions. They put me on antibiotics and everything cleared up. I didn't have any burning either, just the frequent need to pee... Hope that helps. I'd call your doc just to be safe. Good luck!

Isn't it frustrating?? I almost went to L&D last night because I had such bad cramping and back pain - MW's wanted me to come in, but I really felt like it wasn't anything to cause a stink over. Frist thing she suggested was going to the lab to get a urine test...didn't even think about a UTI! I'm still not convinced that's what it's from, think its just pg related, but I'm going to keep tabs on my symptoms for the next few days to compare....

I've seen a few posts about back pain being caused by pre-e or UTIs, so I started Dr Googling. Bah! Did you get the lab work done?
I had never had one in my life (and still am not completely convinced I DID have one) but around 22 weeks my back started hurting so terribly bad I could not move, it hurt no matter what I did, there was no burning when I urinate, urge to go often or anything out of the usual, except my back hurt. The ladies I work with thought I might have a UTI so I made an appt with my GP and they did a UA and some blood work. My white count came back elevated and there were trace amounts of bacteria in my urine. The next day my back stopped hurting out of the blue. They put me on antibiotics for a week and I went back for a f/u. They did the tests again and my white count was still elevated, actually higher than before the antibiotics, so they refered me to my OB. He was not concerned about it at all and sent me on my way. There for, I'm not convinced I actually HAD a UTI in the first place.
Me!!! I just went on Monday to pee in a cup b/c my back was hurting so bad...not all over back pain, just in one mid/lower area on my left side. Stupid nurse asked me if I had increased urge to pee...umm...I am 37 weeks pregnant! Of course I pee all the time!

This exactly for me, but at 28 weeks. No symptoms except for contractions. I was given an antibiotic and some turb to stop the contractions.

anyhoo...they gave me some antibiotics....
This is exactly my problem. I have pain like there's a knife in my back on the right side in the middle. Though I seem to be peeing more lately, but sh!t, I'm pregnant, isn't that supposed to happen?
Thanks for the input ladies, I'm going to call my OB when they get back from lunch break.
Mine was very painful but I didn't have any burning when I pee'd. It hurt when I sat down/walked too much and I was really red and swollen "down there". I also thought my lower half was going to fall off. Dramatic, but it was painful. I had no symptoms of it and then suddenly in the afternoon while I was at work I felt like I was going to be sick. I asked the assistant boss to leave so I could go to my OB where they did a urine sample. I was given medicine that I was seriously allergic to which made it so much worse. I quit taking it 4 days later and was put on a different med. which helped. I have been drinking cranberry juice ever since (I was 18wks). I find that if I miss drinking the juice I begin to slightly burn so I down a huge cup. Obviously the juice can't get rid of it a UTI if you have one, but it cleans your kidneys out and helps bacteria move out. The UTI and acid reflux are def. my top 2 complaints this pregnancy and I wouldn't wish them on my worst enemy!
I've had one in my life and not during pregnancy. I definitely noticed it. I had pain, burning, the constant urge to pee, and blood in my urine, it was no fun! But I have heard of people having no symptoms.
