IVF--Follicle check question

I've had 6 days of stims (Long lupron protocol with Gonal F).  I had my 2nd u/s and b/w appointment today.  The u/s tech said that all the follicles are still small (which they define as below 12mm).  Is that normal?  I'm a little worried I'm too suppressed.  I will say that the u/s tech said this was normal, but I'm still worried--IF messes with your brain!

Anyone have any words of wisdom?  I'll definitely be asking the nurse when she calls, but that won't be until this afternoon and I don't want to drive myself crazier than I already am!!!

Yeah that is pretty normal.  I have noticed that follies usually take off after 6-9 nights of stims.  You will be surprised by how much they have grown at your next scan!

  • Totally normal.  I don't think mine got over 10mm until after 6 days of stims that and it ended up being completely fine.

  • Yep, sounds about right!
  • Mine didn't take off until the last couple days.  Good luck and stay positive.
