Anyone effaced but not dilated?

At my first internal (36w3d) Dr. said I was over 50% effaced but not dilated. Though he doesn't like to make predictions he said it could be a 38 week baby. 

Anyone else going through this and what did your Dr. say?

With DD I didn't dilate but was effaced and my water broke on it's own.

    At last week's appt (38w) I was 50% effaced, no dilation.  Today, no dilation and still 50%.

    I was 50% effaced with no dilation at my first internal, this last appt my Dr. said my cervix was much softer and thinner and opening up. Not really sure what that means but sounds like progress to me!

    Last week I was a fingertip dilated and 70% effaced.  I get checked again tomorrow at my 39wk appt.  I assume I have made progress because I lost my mucous plug and had my bloody show yesterday.  Let's hope!

    My sister had a preterm labor scare yesterday (at 35 weeks) and was/is 75% effaced and only finger-tip dilated. She was having mild contractions and had to be given medication to stop the contractions. Her LO is breech and her doctor is worried about labor progressing because of her effacement.

    I have been 90% effaced and no dilation for a couple weeks now :-P

    I was the opposite at my last appointment...2 cm dilated and no effacment.

    I've been 1cm for several weeks and was 100% effaced at 37w check... that was Monday and still nothing... oh and baby's head was super low... I figured something would have happened by now.  I know my doc is of the opinion that when it starts, it's going to be fast!  I had my DD at 36w1d when water broke and I was 2cm, 90%.

    At 36w, I was 90% effaced, but 0 cm dilated.  No change at 37w.  My doctor said that while it's no guarantee that I will go early, that I should prepare for the possibility that I will not make it to my due date.  His prediction was 38-39w.

    I had a PTL scare at 32 weeks. At that point I was 1cm and 25% effaced. At my 34w5d appointment I was still 1cm but 50% effaced. My next appointment is Monday so we'll see where I am then.

    The good news is that I've read and heard that it's easier for the cervix to dilate when it's more effaced.
