TTC after 35

Do you feel "hot" after O?

I don't know if this is a "phantom symptom" of sorts or not.  During my last three cycles, I felt warmer, almost like I had a low grade fever during my post-ovulation days.  I know it probably it has to do with the rise in temperature, but I never thought one would feel "hotter".  It's weird.

Re: Do you feel "hot" after O?

  • OMG, I just thought the same thing earlier this evening! I am never a "fanning" person, but the last two days I have been so hot! I just thought I might have to check my temp because i might be catching a cold. So weird that you feel the same.

  • I have to say, I have been feeling this way the past few days, after O. It has not happened to me before either.
  • As I've gotten 'older' I've noticed my body temp has gone up (I think of how I'd layer when I went to bed in high school and I break out in a sweat). It's worse after I've ovulated especially when I'm sleeping....not to be gross but there have been times when I have to change my t-shirt because I get so hot. Blech!
  • I dont really, i was actually freezing yesterday, all day, couldnt get warm, i experience spotting........grrrr everytime, i do hear its a sign of fertility but......this is our 7th cycle Tongue Tied!!!
  • Yes! I am always burning up "hot" for a few days.

  • I haven't noticed that around O, but I have started to notice getting hot right before my period.  I can't say that I think it is a "getting older" thing because I was on the pill all of my adult life.  Its hard to say whats normal for me and what might be indicating peri-menopause (god I hope not Tongue Tied).  I choose to think its normal.  If you were on the pill before, you didn't ovulate so it may not be a new symptom of ovulation for you.
I give up trying to get a ticker.  I have a DD that is 2.5 years old and is awesome.  Maybe I'll add a quote to distinguish myself.  Hmmm.  How about...

  • It's funny you should mention this. I thought it was my mind playing tricks on me.I've been charting my temps and waiting to O, so I've been expecting my temp to rise. I thought because of my anticipation, that I was imagining it all. I wake up in the middle of the night from the heat. I feel it build up inside of me and then I break out in a sweat. I know it's not the A/C kicking off, because we sleep with a ceiling fan on so there is always a breeze going. I just get so hot, I have to throw the covers off and hike whatever I'm wearing up. I'm so glad to hear that I'm not the only one. I've been tempted to take my temperature right when it happens, but I'm just so darned tired that I don't do it. Maybe next time. It will be interesting to see how high my temp goes.
  • Whew, I am glad I am not the only one!  Thanks for sharing and reassuring =)
