Luckily, my son prefers his side but every now and then he'll roll over to his belly and it makes me so NERVOUS. My husband insists that he's fine but I can't relax unless I flip him back over. Mind you, we have an Angelcare monitor so I don't know why I can't trust it. I'm just psycho-mommy, I guess.
Do you let your 6 month old baby sleep on his/her belly?

ditto. Drew started rolling to his stomach to sleep right around 6 months. I was so thankful b/c he sleeps much better that way!
TTC#2=July 2011: Surprise BFP: Chemical Pregnancy
DH: 31, no issues
4-6/2012 100mg of Clomid + trigger + IUI/TI = BFN
7/2012 150mg of Gonal-f + trigger + IUI = BFN
8/2012 Surprise unmedicated BFP!! Due May 8, 2013
Is their head completely turned to the side? When I go check on him, his head is turned to the side but not fully so one nostril is completely smushed while half of the other is open. THAT is what makes me nervous.

I was a wreck too, but she sleeps better on her belly. My pedi told me not to worry. She said that "if you would put your hand over her face she would fight you; she will move if her breathing is hindered in any way." (maybe not her exact words but you get the point!) Good luck!!
BTW, I turned the monitor up really loud so I could hear her breathing for a couple weeks until I got comfortable with it.
THIS. I've been following SIDS research for the past 15 years, and have reached out to the SIDS organization on more than one occassion. The rule is that you put your baby to sleep on their belly, and if they roll you let them sleep in whatever position they put themselves in. Once a baby can roll 360 degrees it is extremely unlikely for a baby to die of SIDS.
DS has been sleeping on his belly since 5 months. He rolls around way to much. When he is on his belly he always has his head tilt to the side, so I know he is able to breathe.
