Yes, our DC has parent teacher conferences twice a year. She has only been there a week but they had done all the assessment paperwork on her as far as her skills ( not crawling yet but holds her own bottle really well) They gave me a sheet with all of the baby signs they are teaching her and her first artwork. Yes her first artwork. It is a pic of a turtle that she scribbled all over with some markers but hey I would never have thought to give a 8 month old a marker. DH couldn't come because of work but I think he also thought it was kind of silly but I think it was helpful gave her teacher and I chance to talk instead of the 5 seconds during pick up.
V is over her cold, now I have it. She continues to have some issues at DC because she had her own nanny and she had her full attention and I think she held her a lot. So she wants to play with the other kids, but have the teacher right there also. They are very understanding of it though and are working with her.
Re: First Parent Teacher Conference
That is sooo cool! I love it- her first artwork! I can't wait for that!
Re: Nanny to daycare, I fear the same thing when we start daycare someday. My mom holds him constantly and one of my really good friends is going to start watching him two days a week (the two my mom doesn't watch him) and I know she will do the same. It's great that your DCP is understanding and working with her. I guess this could be a semi-common problem?
