~~ZERO SPERM / AZOOSPERMIA CHECK IN~~This is a place for any of you who are experiencing the world of azoospermia. Whether you were recently diagnosed and are trying to make sense of it all, or you have started preparing for IVF or IUI, or have decided instead to move on to adoption. Please join in the group by posting! Check in is on Thursdays.Learning that the chances of having a biological child with your husband are slim to none is not easy, and is, frankly, devastating news. This check in is a place where we can share how we are coping (or not) with our new realities, provide information we've learned through investigating our options, adjusting our lifelong dreams and plans, and dealing with the situation. I'd like to extend an invitation to those who have been fortunate enough to experience pregnancy, childbirth, and/or adoption. Ultimately, all of us desire to create a family. The experiences and insight of those who have reached that goal will be quite helpful to those of us on that road. AZOO SUCCESS STORIES! Did you do anything special to commemorate? Do you consider yourself to be environmentally conscious?
Not much new going on here. Getting more tired and achy, but otherwise feeling pretty good. If only I could eat whatever I wanted! I'll definitely make up for that once Ethan is here.
Good luck to everyone in 2ww!
Questions of the Week:
Happy Earth Day! Did you do anything special to commemorate? Do you consider yourself to be environmentally conscious? I generally don't "celebrate" Earth Day, but I consider myself environmentally aware. We recycle through the town, and I use organic gardening products, as opposed to stuff like Round Up. I'm hoping to cloth diaper, as well, for the $$ aspect as well as the environmental one.
Crashi - Every week I am amazed at how far along you are
Kissies - congrats again. Can't wait to hear your next beta number.
Worms - GL at your beta/when you test! This is it!!
We got 8 eggs today at my ER - last time we had 12 and still didn't have any to transfer. I'm praying for a better fert rate than last cycle and that we have embies for transfer this time. The RE asked if anyone had talked to us about the sperm and DH said they had. When we left I asked him what the update was and he was talking about the update from TUESDAY! So, I have a feeling there is some bad news waiting. I'll be the lucky one who gets to ask tomorrow when we get our fert report.
QOTD: We didn't really do anything for Earth Day and I don't really consider myself super environmentally conscious - but it is something I'm working on.

Update: We had first appt w/ RE and I'm scheduled for surgery on May 3 for Endometriosis. We are still trying to get finances in order to figure out when we can do ivf/icsi w/ mtese. I did get a look at the Cryo Banks analysis which was 1 twitching sperm before thaw, zero after but there was 20 cells found.
Happy Earth Day! I did not do anything special but do recycle everything I can, and use as many earth friendly products as I can (all cleaning supplies).
Good luck to everyone at whatever stage you are at
No updates here! I feel like that has been the case for a while, we are stuck with no progress just waiting for our fate next week. DH has his biopsy on Wednesday so at next week's check in I'll either be relieved or devestated.
As for Earth Day, we always recycle as much as we possibly can and try to save energy whenever possible. I'm also a teacher, so today I had my students write about how they can protect the Earth. HAPPY EARTH DAY!
12/09- DH dx Azoo
2/23/10- DH's ultrasound and FSH show normal results but no sperm!

NHgal Good Luck on Wed! I hope you find some sperm :-).
Kisses I must have missed your BFP, but congrats!!!
Update: No update, just treading water waiting for AF and hoping she will be timely.
QOTW:
I didn't do anything to celebrate. I do recycle just about anything I can and use energy efficient household appliances, environmentally friendly cleaners, etc. I am sure I could do more but this is what I do right now :-).
TTC since 8/2004
Me - DX Hashimoto's Disease, Hypothyroid, Rheumatoid Arthritis
DH - DX Azoospermia - Sertoli Cell Syndrome
DS-IUI #1-4 BFN
IVF #1 - BFP! It's a boy!!!
Not much new here ladies. Today has been a hard day for me. We had an appt with the uro to discuss our options and I went there with the idea of doing MESE/TESE before IVF and the the uro made us think that we shouldn't do that and do the biopsy first. I feel like I am such a flip floppper and it is driving me crazy! I wish we knew 100% what we wanted to do. I want to make a freaking decision
QOTW: We don't do anything and I am not very green - I know that's bad.
TTC #1 since Dec. 2008
01/10 - DH diagnosed with Azoospermia
05/10 - First Biopsy - producing sperm
08/11 - Second Biopsy..4 vials frozen
08/12 - First IVF BFN & no more vials
Don't know our next plan...
Thanks for the GL wishes. Beta is on Monday and I alternate between hope and anxitey.
Gidge - praying you get an amazing fert report. Come on EMBIES!!
NHgal - GL & PPV, I hope they find lots of swimmers
Congrats Kissies!!!

It's been a long journey. TTC since 9/06. multiple IUI's and IVF's and 4 m/c's. IVF#3 = BFP, twins, induced at 34w6d due to baby b passing away (no explanation). Delivered on 35w1d, Baby A - baby girl, and Baby B - baby boy, our little angel.

I have decided to once and for all stop lurking and join! I am not used to the acronyms and always have to check the list of meanings so bear with me.
My husband was diagnosed with azoospermia. He has been on clomiphene citrate since December. We had an appointment with his urologist on Wednesday after another SA, which was 0 still. His surgery is scheduled in two weeks and we have an initial appointment with an R.E. tomorrow. We are super excited to move to the next step but also terrified!
I work with teens and tweens so we made recycled soda tab bracelets and played corn hole outside today. I wish I was more environmentally conscious! I recycle, try to buy green things and hope our first veggie garden is a success but there is always more to do!
Update: Day 6 of stim for IVF#2. Nothing too exciting other than the usual bloat and some impact on my short term memory. ER likely to be next Thursday. Eek!
QOTW: Happy Earth Day! We should definitely be doing more but unfortunately, recycling is not common in Asia and the hot climate doesn't help (lots of bugs). We do the usual: energy efficient appliances, turning the lights off, doing laundry only when we have a full load, print only when needed, etc..... we definitely need to do more and will try to do more going forward.
NHGal- I hope they find spermies and Dh's recovery goes smoothly. It feels like it's been so long you've been waiting. i keep thinking is it end of april yet?
c4Jenna- Welcome and good luck with your DH's surgery waiting is the worse!
Worms- Gl at your beta monday
gidge- Good luck with your fertility report I'm praying for you.
Craschi- wow not much longer to go....
Update: So I didn't do general post b/c some girls had posted about newbies posting beta results and felt offended etc....didn't know how "new" I was considered, so I didn't feel comfortable posting. I had put it in the IVF check in only. So sunday I POAS negative! Monday was first beta positive but much lower than they wanted it was 35.4 and they like to see it at 100 at that point they said. So second beta was thursday and it went up more than double thank goodness so it's now 99. So I go back monday for 3rd beta. My progesterone had dropped some so I need to continue the PIO!
QOTW: Nope don't do anything special for Earth Day. We recycle and that's prob about it.
GL worms and Gidge, hope to hear back with some positive news from both of you
Happy Earth Day! Did you do anything special to commemorate? Do you consider yourself to be environmentally conscious? Just bought some more CD. I try to be more EF when I can, but admit I'm not where I'd like to be in doing my part to help the environment.
