Do you still expect/anticipate mother's day gifts/cards?!?! A few family members have asked me what I wanted.. I told them that im not a mommy til the baby arrives.

They make mother's day card for "the mommy to be". I wouldn't expect any gifts but cards would be nice. I have a 3yr old already so I'll be celebrating regardless. At church they give out flowers to all the mom's even the ones that haven't given birth yet
No, I won't expect anything but I do think it would be sweet if my husband got me a card or something small. I mean I have been carrying this baby for 9 mos.
I don't anticipate anything for Mother's Day since I'm not due until 6/14. I could see my MIL doing a little something because she likes to do that, but I wouldn't think anyone would since I'm not a mom yet. I would feel weird if people were asking me that too. I did get my sister a Mother's Day card for a Mother-to-be when she was pregnant with my niece.
But you are a mom. You may not be able to hold your baby yet, but you're still the mother of a child. :-) That being said, I'm not really expecting anything for mother's day either. I mean it would be nice if DH got me some flowers or something, but I'm not going to be surprised or disappointed if it doesn't come up.
I'm not expecting anything but I'm sure my mom will send a card or flowers to me. I was born on Mother's Day so she is really hoping our LO comes on Mother's Day as well!
My bday is the week before Mother's Day, so my awesome SIL and BIL are buying our car seat for my presents Obviously it goes w/o saying that they are incredibly generous! But other than that, I don't expect anything for MD. Maybe a baby would be nice! haha

I'm not expecting anything, but I do think that I'm a mom...I've been carrying my little guy for 9 months...I love him and enjoy having him with me all the time I worry about him and already feel protective...so I'd say I'm a mom who's just waiting for her baby to become an outside baby rather than an inside one
I was complaining to DH the other day how it's not fair that the baby will be here for fathers day but not for mothers day. He said that we'll still celebrate it b/c I've been growing baby for so long.. but who knows. This is the same guy who didn't get me a even a card for my Bday or Valentines day this year. I'm not expecting anything

No, I must have missed that one.. what are you getting him??
for me it's a little different because my bday is 3 days before mother's day and my parents are having bbq up in the mountains for my bday/mother's day so i'm sure the gifts that i get will be birthday/mother's day gifts....
our baby is due july 6th but i do plan plan on buying my husband a father's day gift in june
I absolutely feel that DH and I are already parents even if our little one isn't here yet. That said, I wouldn't expect anyone except for DH to worry about Mother's Day anyway. Since I will be ready to pop any day, I do hope that he'll acknowledge the day in some way, even if it's just to say "Happy Mother's Day." He'll be working that day, so I won't be surprised if he comes home with some flowers from the grocery store (or a carton of ice cream since that has been my recent vice).
I also won't be surprised if my mom gives me a card - she's so darn excited, and hoping LO may even be here by then!
Mother's Day was May 12 and I had DD on May 22, two yrs ago. I did get a few mother-to-be cards which were very thoughtful! I hadn't expected anything but really was touched to receive those cards I had to wait almost a full year before getting my first real M Day gifts and it was fabulous. I got the so cliche but sooooo awesome personalized mug w/pic of DD and I couldnt've been happier. I had gotten DH the same mug (dif pic) for his first father's day a month after she was born so now we each have one and we use them all the time and smile
My birthday falls on Mother's Day this year, so I don't expect anything Mother's Day related. Although, I can see my mom and MIL giving me something mom or baby related as a birthday gift...
I respect you all for saying you dont expect anything yet but I do wanna say... We are all Mothers now. Since the moment we got preg, even before that first test, we WERE mothers. By now we are all feeling the effects of having a little one inside of us. Thats YOUR baby. Thats YOUR child. Even if they arent here yet, can you say that the baby inside of you isnt yours 'yet'?? LOL I will not expect anything either but we are mothers now. and I PROUDLY wear that title!! Haha. Just because it isn't in your arms yet doesnt mean it aint yours.

DH has asked me what I wanted. I mentioned that I don't want anything, I can wait until next year.
He'll probably still at least want to take me to brunch. I'll smile and say thank you, because I'm not about to turn down a meal.
