I am still warming DD's bottle in the warmer. I think I read somewhere that it's not necessary to do this. But, I think her premade bottles we make are super cold and wouldn't want her to get a brain freeze or something. The coldest we'll go is room temp.
Any ladies still warming them?
Re: FF Mommies - Do you warm bottle or not?
This.

- It's never been necessary to warm it, it's just how your baby prefers it.
- We definitely still warm bottles, because A. she likes it better (spit it out when it was cold) and B. we premake bottles, so they are cold from the fridge.

When I started to supplement with formula, DD wouldn't take the bottle or just dink a few sips. Somebody told me to warm the bottles and since that moment she take the bottle without problem.
However that could be a PITA when we gou out. I have to warm some water put it in a thermo and pray that stays warm until she gets the bottle.
We make them up as we need them and just add room temperature tap water (that's been filtered with a Brita filter.) I have never warmed her bottles- it's not necessary and it's kind of impractical if you're out and about.
We never had premade bottles in the fridge because the formula "expires" after an hour. We just make them one at a time.
Actually, if you read the formula can, premade bottles are OK for up to 24 hours if kept refrigerated. Otherwise, we'd be SOL at day care!
The formula only "expires" an hour or 2 after heating a bottle from the fridge. Like pp said, they're good for 24 if left in the fridge.
Anyhew, when we go out I warm a bottle of just water (brita pitcher filtered) and put the powder in a travel container. Now, when you say "room temp" is this tap or bottled water? I think I'll invest in the filter for the faucet this weekend.

My Ovulation Chart
I don't really apply to this thread bc I EBF, but at my previous nanny job, the baby took the bottles straight from the fridge. He was born in the winter and the parents just stopped warming them up for him when the weather got warmer, and he was totally fine with it. (And so was I.. one less thing I had to do)
I stand corrected
That's funny, though, because I remember someone at the hospital or at our doctor's office saying that it didn't matter if you refrigerated it. Weird. Even my husband remembers someone saying that. Oh well. It works for us to just make them as we go, so no big deal.
Good to know :0). I've heard (and pedi confirmed) that if the baby doesn't mind cold bottles, it's perfectly fine. I was just surprised no one else responded in the same way.
