** TXBELLA **

would you tell me more about your experience with dr. lindhorst?

she was specifically recommended by M's pedi for more "strong willed" (ie. difficult, does not like people touching her!) kids..

i was hoping to hear your personal experience before i decide between her and another rec from another nestie.

thank you!

Re: ** TXBELLA **

  • I can't say enough good things about her! She and the ladies that work for her are all extremely nice.

My DD definitely doesn't like having someone strange stick a toothbrush in her mouth but Dr. L seemed to be able to "clean" her teeth with very little effort at all. She lets you hold your child while she examines her so I think that helps a lot. I also like that she is a mom too- she has three sons, one of which she describes as VERY strong willed. She seems to be able to offer first hand experience on specific issues we have.

My DD fell ON her front teeth at 18 months old while we were on vacation. The minute we got back to Houston we scheduled a follow up with Dr. L and have seen her numerous times since. She has been following DD closely to make sure that her teeth were OK. Thank goodness everything is fine...the teeth "heeled" and didn't turn dark or fall out. The great thing about Dr. L is that she gave me all the facts and what could happen without scaring the crap out of me.

She is very honest and definitely gives you her professional opinion but also provides the opinion of what she would do as a mother. For example, my daughter ended up having an extra baby tooth. She said she wanted to watch it to see how it came in and wait to see if we needed to pull it. It has made my DD's front teeth a little crooked but nothing major. She advised we would probably need to remove it eventually and there is no harm in waiting at this point. She did call out that as a mother there is no way she would do it at 2 years old. She felt it would cause her more trauma emotionally and wasn't worth it at this point since it wasn't hurting anything now.

She seems to remember everything about DD too. She will bring up things from previous visits that she talked to DD about so it really makes you feel like she knows and cares about her patients. They just really seem to go above and beyond at the practice too. The only negative is that her waiting area is VERY small but if you get appointments in the mornings it isn't bad. Everyone seems to come after 2:00 when school lets out.

If you have any specific questions, please let me know! I love her!
