Lynda was loving the potty seat - wanted to sit on it all the time, read stories up there, couldn't get enough of the thing. Recently she has major potty seat phobia. She wants nothing to do with it. I figured, no big deal, she must not be ready.
Well, our old routine was to sit on the potty while I fill the bath tub and when she was finished, I'll put her in the bath. Now, she gets excited to get into the bath, and as soon as she's in there (without having used the potty) she'll stand up, pee, and then sit down when she's done. She's understanding that it's time to go - just in the wrong place.
Any suggestions on how to move the peeing to the potty? or is it more she'll do it when she's ready?
Re: Potty training ?
This is us totally! Quinn LOVES sitting on his little potty or using the potty seat. He will sit and sit and sit especially when I'm filling up the tub. He has never peed in the potty though. We talk about it. He says pee pee goes in the potty, but just never does it. I don't push and I let him tell me when he's ready to get into the bath. But, it never fails, he gets into the tub and within 2 minutes, he pees. Then he looks at me and says "Mommy, I did pee pee." Yes, thanks Quinn lol. I tell him that pee pee goes in the potty and not the bathtub but that's as far as it gets.
I guess when they are really ready, they will let us know.
I have absolutely no suggestions, as I have no exprience. But there seems to be a common factor amoungst the little ones... perhaps it when the baby touches the water that urges them to go potty. So, maybe have them play w/ the water first (w/ their hands) before entering the tub, and wait until they go potty? Just a suggestion... not sure how realistic it is. : )
