Baby bathtub recommendations?

We have the awesome 4 Moms Clearwater one, but I'm afraid it won't work with our single basin sink (we've moved since DD was born).  What tubs get good marks these days?  I appreciate the recommendations!

Re: Baby bathtub recommendations?

  • We weren't thrilled with the infant tub we had for E, so I'm looking at this one now:

Argh! Can't figure out how to make the link live.  It's the Primo Euro-Bath.

I wish that I would have gotten this instead of the one I have just because Dylan is big but can't sit up on his own yet.  This one is a good bit bigger than other baby tubs.

We have two.  One is the Infant-to-toddler tub with a sling that came highly recommended.  It was great when he was new and in the sling and was good for a little while after, but the little "hump" to hold him up stopped holding him up as it's not very high.  I'd have to constantly pull him back up from sliding down.

The second I got is "Whale of a Tub" by Fischer Price I believe.  It has a removable infant stopper that is a good bit taller than the infant-to-toddler tub's.  It works a lot better for Dylan, and we're happy with it but I don't see him being in much longer after he sits up on his own because it's not that big (though it is larger than the infant-to-toddler one).  This is where the euro-bath would be nice for us!  Also, this one doesn't have a sling, but it looks like they now make an identical tub with a different name that has the sling so that would have been a lot more useful for us than the first tub.

After 2 years and 6 IUIs, we did it with IVF w/ ICSI!

  • I don't put the bathtub in a sink, so not sure if you'll like this or not.  but I LOVE LOVE the Primo Eurotub.  It's really large.  I got a new fisherprice one with the sling with Ally, but she hated it, and ended up buying another Eurotub since we threw Emmy's away, and now she loves her baths.  We put it on the bathroom countertop, and will move it to the big bathtub in a few more months.

  • love the primo eurobath.  it's huge (I just keep it in the big tub), but it holds them so well.
  • another primo fan here. I like how it held her in one spot. We used it for a long time.

We kept it in our bathroom because she was sleeping in our room, and just hung it from the towel bar in the tub (looped a bungee through the hole at the end and hooked it on).

  • I have the "whale" tub too (it's blue and green), and I've been very happy with it.  It has the non-slip material in it for when they're younger (and I think it's a bit softer and warmer than just laying them on plastic), and the removable bumper.  My DS is almost 15 months and we're actually still using it most nights, and he's pretty average size (75th %).  We bathe him in our bathroom, so it just makes more sense to use the small tub, rather than fill up our gigantic spa tub for him, and he's still happy in it.

  • Another big fan of the Primo Euro bathtub. We never had one of those little infant tubs...I never saw a need for it since she loved the Primo.

  • This is the one we got and I like it.  I'm tall (as you know) so I can sit on the floor beside the tub and DS is right there.  No bending over.

I will say that he slides down the seat part of it and now that he wiggles he slides even more, but it still works.  Plus, when he can sit up I'll take it off of the stool so he splashes me less and I can sit on the stool.
