Obviously, per my ticker, DS is 5 weeks old. He was AWESOME for the first month. Slept 2-3 hours most of the time, and I was only up one-three times during the night. I felt great. Then, at one month on the dot, everything's gone to hell. He cries and cries and won't be consoled, or he eats every HOUR, and he just won't sleep. I'm reading all sorts of conflicting stuff and nothing is working so far. Any advice? Please? I'm having meltdowns daily.

Re: When did you start a "schedule?"
He might be going through a growth spurt at this age, and may go back to his ways once done.
I started a bedtime routine around 7 weeks, but that was mostly so that as she got older she would know that those cues meant bedtime.
Otherwise I do a partially baby led schedule during the day, and she has basically created her own, has her naps at a certain time each day, etc.
Does he seem comfortable when he's eating? Do you think he's getting enough? PP right he could be going through a growth spurt too.
It's more that you see a schedule, rather put baby on one. I didn't start to see any patterns until DS started daycare at 8 wks... his naptimes started to look somewhat regular. But we don't have a schedule per se.
With newborns, fussiness supposedly peaks around 6 weeks. You probably won't like to hear this, but most babies don't fuss much at all until they're 3 or 4 weeks old. Then it can be rather bad for a little while. So as frustrating as it is that all sounds very normal. You have to experiment a little for ways to soothe... rocking, walking around, swaddling, swinging, white noise, whatever works.
