My first ultrasound isn't until May 17th. I will be 9w4d if all goes well between then and now.
I am literally dying that I have to wait that long to see if this little one is progressing as he/she should.
If you are waiting or had to wait long for your first u/s how are you or how did you deal with it?
Sincerely,
Super impatient person.
Re: How do u deal w/the wait?
I am the queen of impatience. And I don?t have any advice, unfortunately. First tri was pure and utter torture. I didn?t deal well, I was just a nervous wreck and a big mess for three months. The days felt like they would never end. As positive as I tried to be, it was impossible to not think the worst and prepare myself for heartbreak everytime I went into the Dr.
I just wanted to wish you the best of luck and to preach that today you are pregnant and love your baby! This is your forever baby Bren! And I promise promise that once you get past first tri the time starts flying and you will wonder how it all happened so fast.
big hugs
I totally understand. I feel like today is the first day I can sort of breathe a sigh of relief. Luckily, I have a 2yr old that kept me pretty busy, but on the down times, I tried to occupy myself with things I enjoyed. (Like taking picnics with dh, walking in the afternoons, shopping....lol)
It'll be time for ur u/s soon. I hope all goes well for you between now and then! Find something to do that relaxes you!
FIRST TRI SUCKS! I'm sorry... maybe you can try to take up a new hobby? Scrapbooking? Knitting? EH.!?
Summer 2011
I really like my new doctor, except for the fact that he wanted me to wait until 18 weeks for my first u/s with this pregnancy! He is so very complete with everything else, but has a sort of problem with early "non-essential ultrasounds". So basically, I found a place that does elective ultrasounds without a doctors prescripton, and I've had two so far. The big u/s is still over a month away. The first wasn't until 7 weeks, but it was comforting. I might have made myself wait if I knew I was getting one while still in the 1st trimester!
:::Sending you patience dust:::
Will they let you come in sooner? I'm seeing an RE, so I have an early ultrasound next week, but I know my OB doesn't schedule you until 10 weeks or so. I guess that is considered normal, but it's hard for those of us who've had losses.
I'm just trying to take it one step at a time. First betas, second betas, making it to 5 weeks, 6 weeks, etc. I've always had early losses (and bad betas in the past), so for me the little milestones make it somewhat easier.
I waited until just about 8 weeks for my first u/s. I could have went earlier, but my thought was that if I wait that long, there won't be any limbo time.
It was SOO hard, but I celebrated every day without spotting, every day that I felt pregnant and all of that. By the time it came, it didn't seem like I waited that long
