I get a similar pain. It feels like someone is putting pressure right under my ribs on the left side. It gets worse, the longer I sit and when I eat. I think it is due to the fact that my uterus is growing and pushing on things that are pushing on other things.
Do you mean under like behind it, or under like below it?
Yesterday I had a spot, about the size of a quarter, just below my left ribcage that was sore. Just a dull constant ache. I just passed it off as gas, and it was gone after a few hours.
Yup. It's only on my left side and being Dr. Hypochondriac I have self-diagnosed it as a broken xiphoid process. (Please know that I'm kidding!)
I called my doctor and they said take tylenol and use a heating pad on it. It sucks, but it's been here for two weeks now. I constantly rub it all day, and it's worse when I'm sitting.
My only relief is knowing how many hours I have until I can go home and lie down!

I feel it too, especially after sitting at my desk for too long. Today it came about after sitting in my rocking chair while I was reading to my students. It's not as strong whenever I am moving about my classroom.

I had that a lot around 17 weeks. And so forth. Have you tried laying straight out to stretch out a little? Laying on my side or standing or laying stretched out always relieved that pain for me. This is about the time you will begin go feel a little uncomfortable. It went away for me but got bad when I would eat a lot
Yup, as PPs have said, that's your rib cage expanding. It will come and go on both sides but shouldn't be unbearable for long periods of time. Last pregnancy, it was much worse for me personally in 2nd tri than 3rd. Hope it gets better for you soon.
I am 16.3 weeks along and I'm getting nervous. I am having a slight squeeze sensation/pain below my rib cage on my left side. It's the weekend and I am trying to hold off on calling MD as I am thinking that I am getting worked up for no reason but not sure if I have reason to worry. Thoughts please!
I have something similar, only mine is in my middle back back, underneath the left rib area. It's worse when I'm sitting in my office chair for long periods of time. Hopefully nothing too serious.
