First Communion

What will I get SS for his First Communion this Saturday?  I will get him a nice prayer book or beads or something BUT I would like to get him something fun also.

OR

Do you think the following weekend we should take him out seperatly and have a fun day out.  I'm kinda thinking that if I just buy him something and give it to him at BMs that is the end we will see of it KWIM.

Re: First Communion

  • Maybe take him to do something fun. I know for my First Communion, I got the typical rosary and prayer book, both of which I still have, but I would have liked a 'fun' gift or to have gone somewhere to celebrate (other than out to dinner).

This is just me, because I'm sentimental, so you can take it or leave it, but I think if you do get him the beads or the prayer book, it will be something he can cherish forever. Even if YOU never see it again and it stays at BM's house, he will always have it and remember that 'phantom gave me this for my first communion'. OR you can wait until it's your guys' time to have him give it to him then (and even then he might take it back to BM's house). I would also do something 'fun' (not extravagant) just to commemorate the occasion. That's just me though. I always have to do something cheesy and sentimental.

I totally want to get him something he will always have BUT I am thinking BMs family may have already done that.  However there are nice photoframes with the date engraved and things like that.  I am going after work tomorrow to get him something.  Besides that I would really like to treat him and possibly his cousins to a day out or something.  Meh i'll look online for what is happening locally.
