How was the hospital experience for you the second time around? I am almost 30 weeks now, this is around the time that things got bad with DS and I am starting to get really anxious. I feel like I am OK now, but as soon as I get into that hospital I am going to lose it and freak out just by remembering what happened last time. I am a pretty levelheaded person, but I have no idea how I am going to react to all of this again, especially if I start having problems. How did you cope? Was it better this time?
Re: 2nd time Mommys (after preemie)
It has been so much better that it is almost unbelievable. In a way, it has been a healing experience.
I was really anxious up through delivery, but everything since been great (minus the c/s pain). I was able to nurse her in recovery, we've been rooming in, I get to hold her as much as I want...
The only downside is missing my older daughter who is at home Also, I would recommend giving your nurse a list of things that might trigger your anxiety.
It was so much better the second time... I don't even know that I compared the two at all at the time, just because it was so different! I just soaked up the wonderfulness of being able to have my baby with me from the moment she was born. There were some other sucky things again because I got pre-e again, but for the most part, it was WAY better!
