Babies: 3 - 6 Months

Fun and creepy post stolen from Parenting

OP:  https://community.thebump.com/cs/ks/forums/thread/35333813.aspx

So WDYT?  Do some kids/people have a sixth sense?

My answer: Dunno about kids specifically, but I know my mom has ...intuition?  When my brother moved to Boston she begged him for weeks not to go, saying she knew if he left she'd never see him again.  She's not the hysterical overprotective type, either.  He went, and he died 6 months later.  The last time she saw him she was begging him to stay at home.  That's just one of a million examples with her.

  • DH's 4 yr old cousin (now 6) used to talk to thin air.  Whenever she was asked who she was talking to she would say "pop".  She never met pop (DH's and her grandfather) because he died before she was born.

One day her father took a pictured of 4 different older men and said, who do you talk to?  And sure enough she pointed right at pop.

Then one day, her grandmother (pop's wife) told her to say hi to Pop for her and Jenna said she can't, he went away.  And she has never been seen talking to pop again.

  • oooh that post totally gave me the chills!!

I have to say that I agree w/ a lot of what was posted. Everyone has it but children are more in tune w/ it and adults learn to tune it out and just aren't aware. I have a few different things that have happened to me (spirit wise) that just couldn't be explained any other way.

And like the first person who responded in that post, I've had 2 experiences where I knew something bad was about to happen to me and then it did and I thought I really should have listened to my intuition on that! Both were car accidents and both times I had a feeling, drove super carefully, only to let my guard down as I was almost at my destination and then BAM! I so clearly remember the first time it happened, thinking I'm about to get into a car accident and paying so close attention to everything around me. Yet I couldn't shake the feeling that something was about to happen. I got to the parking lot, thought "phew I made it" and out comes some guy speeding and slamming into my side door. Crazy.

  • One day years ago when my sister was in middle school she got hit by a car while getting off the school bus. Thankfully she only got a broken leg, but afterward in the hospital she told my parents that she knew she was going to be okay because our grandfather (who had passed some years earlier) told her she was going to be.

  • Sometimes I "feel" things. For example, DH's whole family were going out of town for some birthdays.  I kept feeling that it wasn't a good idea for us (I was 8 months pg).  They kept teasing me about it saying nothing could happen.  Sure enough, the morning everyone was leaving...my water broke.

I don't know what everyone knows about education, but a lot of districts are cutting teachers.  DH was laidoff, too.  It could have be horrible for us.  For some reason, I felt that it wasn't going to be so bad for us.  DH landed a good job a month before I got my official termination paperwork.  We'll be fine.  Other ppl were freaking out for me while I was calm.

I definitely believe in psychic connections.  When I would dream about my gran, I would call and she would be really sick.  She died a few years ago and when I found out I was pregnant, the due date was the anniversary of her death.  Everyone said DS would most likely be late, but I knew he would come right on time and he did.  There's other things like knowing what people are going to say before they say it.  But I can't really control it.

  • I totally believe children have that sense.  I believe they are their angels though.

I remember as a kid (Like 7) I was really devastated by a death of this little boy who was handicapped who sat behind me in school.  I would help write his papers on days when he was weak, well he & his sister tragically died in a fire & I was devastated!  I remember playing in the yard & I was thinking about him & looked over by a tree & vividly saw him running thought the yard!

I ran inside crying telling my mom I knew Jarrod was OK now & could run & play with the other kids.  I was never sad about it again b/c I knew he was in a better place!
