I posted earlier about lupron and since have researched on the internet - I've found some really scary articles about lupron that mention bone loss, long term arthritis, and memory loss. I've always been afraid of this particular injection but am upset about having to take it for 21 days before stimming and then 8 days while stimming at the same dose. I feel like it's 21 days because my clinic only does supression checks on wednesdays and everyone starts stims on Monday. Even on my clinics sample calendar shows supression check after 10 days and stims start after taking lupron for 14 days. Should I call and ask why or do I need to just chill out?
Thanks and sorry for all the questions.. I'm just super nervous about ivf.
Re: really freaking out about lupron
Take a deep breath...
I understand that you're freaked out but 1) the shot is simple 2) you aren't going to be on it long enough to get those s/e. Almost everyone did Lupron with their first IVF and we are all fine.
The best thing to do is STOP GOOGLING.
This is good advice! But should I call and ask why it's a week longer or just go with it?
That is how long I was on Lupron, I think it's totally normal. If it would make you feel better though, call. That is what they are there for.
My clinic sounds similar to yours. Everything was scheduled out the day I started BCP and I have my baseline on a set day.
The Nurse did ask if I'd had my period but I don't think anything would have been pushed back if I hadn't (I think some people don't bleed with the lupron). They just based things on my ovaries and lining looking good - I was good to go.
First, try to take a deep breath.
Next, remind yourself that many people who take Lupron are cancer patients who take much higher doses. You won't be taking enough Lupron for long enough to experience the side effects you are finding on the internet.
Finally, step away from Google.
