Frustrated mostly lurker (vent)

So we are STILL waiting.  Our agency update informed us that they have shown two of our profiles this month.  I feel like this is never going to happen.  DH and I start foster care classses next Saturday, so we will have something new to focus on.  Maybe we just aren't meant to adopt.  Maybe that's why this isn't happening.  We are supposed to do our first IVF next June if we don't get matched before then.  I keep wondering if that's what we are going to be successful with, not adoption.  Can't I have both:( ?  Anyone else waiting a long time to be rematched after a failed match?

    I know the wait sucks we have been waiting 17 months and its tough. We decided to hire a second agency to search for us. This second agency is 3x more active than our current agency. They have show our profile twice in one week. our original agency has shown us twice since january. so we are hopping for the best with this. hang in there we are all here for you to vent any time

    I am so sorry :( I hate that you are still waiting! I honestly wish I had something to tell you... to make you magically have a baby... I am so sorry :( it sucks
    Married on 3.20.2004. It took 30 month, 2 failed adoptions and IVF for our first miracle. We have had 9 foster kids since he was born and started the domestic adoption process when he was 10 month old, we had 4 failed matches in that time. After our daughter was born we brought her home and spent 2 weeks fearing we might lose her because of complications that came up. But Praise God all went through and she is ours forever!     How discouraging.  I'm sorry, and I hope things work out soon, one way or the other.

    Have you looked into working with other agencies and/or attorneys or facilitators that might be more active than your current agency?

    Oh, Mrs.J, I'm so sorry you are having such a tough time of it.  I know how awful it can feel when nothing's moving.  I wish you strength, perseverance, and a baby...soon!

    I'm so sorry, the wait really sucks.  We felt the same way, like it would never happen for us... along with many stumbling blocks along the way.  The not knowing when or if, it has to be the hardest part.

    i'm so sorry. i've been waiting a year ( 1/2 the time that you have ) and i'm frustrated, too.  (((HUGS)))
    After 7 years of marriage and 5 unsuccessful IVFs, we have been granted the gift of adopting a baby boy, born 4/21/11.
