Help... DS getting carsick & throwing up

DS has been getting sick in the car (throwing up).

Not for long vacation trips, would I would understand. But even for short, city drives. I?ve noticed he?s thrown up when we do too many turns. Sometimes on a freeway which are pretty straight.

It?s not that he just ate either. Sometimes it?s been 2 hours since he had milk and he?d still throw up.

He is FF for months now so I don't think that's it. He sits behind the passenger side.

This just happening the last few months. His gag reflex has always been weak and he?s prone to throw ups but the car sickness thing is pretty new.

We've rolled down the window for fresh air on long drives. Sometimes it works.

Anyone experience this with DC? Any suggestions????

TIA

Trish

  • I haven't experienced it - but I do get it A LOT.

Can he see the road?  You need to watch the horizon.  What kind of car do you have - I know toyotas are bouncy and I get ill quick.

Plus - have you checked his ears - if he has an infection or water in ears, he'll have an imbalance

  • How old is he? From your sig it looks like he's still too small to FF (I personally like keeping kids RF until they're 4 Wink ).
  • Maybe gingerale too (real ginger) will help

  • I've struggled with carsickness my whole life.  Some of the things that help me: eating and drinking (esspecially cold drinks) while driving, or having somthing to suck on.  Fresh air, ice pack or cold compress.  No radio, talk or music, something that smells good, as bad scents exasperate my naseau. A clean car.  Sun shades  I am sorry he is going though this!  It is a major pain!
