DH and I are painting the nursery this weekend, so I'm trying to wrap up the last few design details this week. I'm trying to decide what color frames to order to go with our furniture.
Here is our bed:
Here are the prints we ordered: (they have no matting with them currently)
The trim in the room (and the entire house) is the natural wood trim. It has never been painted, and we aren't planning on painting it now.
Would framing the prints in white frames look silly?
Re: Nursery design question
I don't think white would like silly, but white frames just are NMS with non-white furniture. But I also think it's fine to mix wood tones and they don't have to match exactly. It will give the room depth.
Another option would be to do a green or pink frame (same color on all of the prints) and a double mat -- I would do white on top and a pink or green underneath (the opposite of whatever color frame you go with).
We're painting a neutral color. I think it's Behr's Navajo White.
I didn't think about doing pink or green frames. I may stop by JoAnn or Michael's one evening and get a couple of different options to play with. I can always return the ones I decide against.
I like the idea of going with a pink or green frame instead of wood or white. I agree that it would be difficult to match wood tones, and honestly, with wood trim and wood furniture I think it would be nice to have a little variation.
If you can't find a pink or green frame you like, you can always paint the frame. Just an idea.

Yeah -- you may have an easier time finding a spray paint that matches your colors!
If you're open to a pink or green frame, I think they would look adorable in some shabby frames -- see what you can find on Craigslist or at a garage sale, then clean them up, paint them, and scuff the edges. Adorable!
