You can do anything for them, Like my MIL... I mentioned I would do a diaper cake for her on Friday over the weekend if she wanted. Well she declined and today called me to do it for her, umm TODAY...
Then my BFF stated at a party last weekend she is so glad that I SAHM so I can watch her kids when she is off being a lawyer and she wont have to worry about daycare.... Dont worry, I corrected this one ASAP.
My mom will call and ask me to do her a favor at the drop of a hat ALL the time too.
You guys experience this?
Re: When your a SAHM.. People Assume...
No, but I don't answer my phone AND we are always out doing activities with DD.
Nope. Sounds like you have rude friends/family.
ETA: I'd find a way to tell them that just because you're home doesn't mean you're available for everyone's beck and call.
This happened a lot in the first 2 years or so. Then I started to flake on the things that they asked (I used to be an editor and was asked to proof everything that my friends in grad school did), so they eventually stopped asking. I just don't have that much uninterrupted time in my day.
Exactly!

Most people know better with me. lol-
I do get a ton of phone calls/emails/IMs for free tax or law advice which is very annoying.
My gripe with my mom- who is a SAHW (mom for many years)- is that she will call multiple times a day- have nothing to say- and just want to chat. I don't do idle chit chat very well- and plus I am up to my eyeballs in a mess and a very active toddler. My mom needs a hobby.
I agree, my friends & family would never assume anything and most, because of my blog and Facebook, know how busy we are!
