Preemies

Hospital called..boys coming home by Friday!!!:)

I almost started balling crying whent he nurse called.  We knew it would be by the end of this week or next but it feels so good to have a real end in sight. :)
DH is terrified, he confessed that he does not want the boys to come home yet b/c he is worried they will die (SIDS or something) He wants them on apnea monitors by the doctors say they don't need them.  He feels like it will be his fault if they come home and something bad happens.  Poor DH.

I am worried but not right now, right now i am just so excitied to think i will finally have my whole family at home and a month later, DD finally gets to see, meet her little brothers:)
Thanks for letting me share!

  • Congradualtions!!  There is nothing like the feeling of brining your baby home.  Yes it's very scarry too we had some of the same concerns.  We bought the Angel care montior to help us relax a little and it was well wortht he money.   I would never have slept with out it.

    Good Luck!!

  • I agree with PP on the Angel Care monitor.  It is extremely good for peace of mind.

That is great the doctors don't feel they need apnea monitors!  Sounds like they are doing famously.

Take a minute to enjoy--you've certainly earned it!  Make sure you get pictures of the babies leaving the NICU, in the car, and on the way into the house for the first time.  You will want to relive that moment over and over, I promise.  Sweet freedom!  :-)

  • Congratulations. It's the best feeling in the world. I know how your DH felt. I was the same way. So nervous, but it will get easier. Yah, so happy for you.

  • Congratulations!!!  That must be so exciting.  I know I just can't wait for the day my little girl is discharged.  I am really nervous also about it, but I am thinking that is perfectly normal.  If the doctor believes your sons will be fine with out the monitors then that means he thinks they have no greater chance of having an apnea episode than a full term baby.  I know it must be hard, but just try and trust that your doctor knows best.  Good luck, and that really is awesome!
