HELP from 3rd Tri... please My mom is getting us a service for the first 6 months, but I want to get covers, and of course after the 6 months, I will need my own...OMG... there are way too many.... what are you ladies using???
Hey well I'm not using a service too expensive in San Diego, But as for covers I use thirsty Duo, bummis and I have 2 Kushies I haven't tried yet and I have 2 litewraps. I like the thirsty duo because you can adjust for size my daughter was able to wear those and the bummis at 5lbs. I like the covers easy to clean and if its just pee I change the prefold and put the cover back on with no problem or urine smell. I bought rumparooz lil joeys I love them they are cute and fun easy to use even my mom who hates cloth diapers loves to use them when she comes over to help out. I have some goodmama's they are cute and they work well for overnights. We bought soeme happy heinys but havent had the chance to use them yet they are still big on my DD shes about 8 lbs now. And we have some blueberry's that we haven't had a chance to use yet because of her weight. Well I hope this helps, ask the ladies over at The Eco-Friendly Family they helped me with reviews and I also got help from local shops and cloth diapering moms in my area. Good luck
Get Thirsties covers. I like my Duo Wraps and they come in cute prints. But the sized ones are great too. They are by far the best cover at keeping in the poo.
Thirsties covers. We're using KL0s for newborn, but the next step will just be prefolds and Flips (you can use the Flip covers the same as Thirsties). We've tried almost all the dipes out there and those are the best dipes for your money. GL!
we are using prefolds from green mountain diapers and thirstie duo covers. I have other covers but these by far are my favorite, I won't get any other ones. We have 3 dozen in the yellow edge now and I think I probably could have gotten away with 2 dozen but it is nice to only have to wash every three days instead of every 2.
We also have Sposoeasys AIO's which I think hold up a lot better than the BG AIO's. I also like that they are all cotton. You can buy those with free shipping at www.sewbabycrafty.com
it is very overwhemling but it really is trial and error to see what will work best for you, but everyone seems to love thirstie duos I would at least get some 1 of those covers for your stash (I have 3 and thats all I use. I use the same one all day unless it gets poop on it then I handwash and let it air dry). GL!!
The choices in cloth diapering really are overwhelming and I've found that everyone has different opinions! Something that I recently came across that seems like a really cool option is this trial for around $20 (including shipping) you get the chance to try out several different cloth diapering options.
I also don't use a service. My stash includes 26 prefolds (I thought I would need more but it's working out well).I had 3 newborn size thirsties covers and now we are using the larger duos. I have 6 of those and 5 pocket diapers (bugenius) that I use overnight. I wash every other day sometimes I stretch to every 3 days. Love it!! I thought i would only use them at home but I started hating disposables sonar use cloth on the go too. Oh so I also have 2 pail liners and 2 travel wetbags. Hope this helps!
I prefer Thirsties. I have the xsmall and also the duo and I like both of them right now. I also have a diaper service and I LOVE it. It took me a couple days to get the hang of folding the diaper and getting a snug fit. Be patient and give yourself some time to get it right. Good luck!
