Daycare in Downtown/Heights

    You might want to check out www.kidcareyears.com

    Creme de la Creme is downtown and is nice, but very spendy.

    my son goes to Esperanza in the heights. i will say while i love it for my 3 year old, i have heard questionable things about the infant groups.

    gonzales is also in the heights and i have several friends with kids there. it's super affordable too!

    Creme is spendy. We have been happy there for three years, and have enrolled our second son there too.

    Some things we learned when we sought cheaper care:

    -- Most schools in the area are not that much cheaper or are about the same.

    -- The student to teacher ratios are improved at Creme by the presence of housekeepers. The housekeepers take care of the more mundane tasks of diaper changes, dirty clothes changes, ferrying kids from the Kiss and Ride, preparing them with sunscreen / bug spray, etc. This means more adults per child.

    -- Their holiday schedule mirrors a works schedule which is very important. 

    -- The inclusion of diapers is convenient.

    -- The optional lunches are convenient.

    -- They learn a great deal and are prepared for private schools. 

    We happened to end up with Creme after looking at Esperanza, St. Rose Lima, and other programs in the area. They have been responsive to our concerns and other parent concerns. They are well organized with an eye toward making the two-working-parent life easier.

    It is worth checking out. 

    ** We will miss having our first son there when we transition him to school next year. He'll be back for summers, though.

    Hey!  I was wondering if this was you.  It can't already be time to send the C's to daycare!  It seems like you just had them.  Is R still in Greenway Plaza?  There are some daycares in West U that could be convenient for him.

    You should check out the Houston board on the Nest too.  Most of us on the baby board post over there as well.
