I seriously have NO luck when it comes to my teeth.
No matter what I do to take care of my teeth something ALWAYS goes wrong. Today was just another one of those incidents. I had 3 teeth filled about a month ago (don't even get me started on how I manage to always have cavities...). Well, today one of the teeth I ad a filling on decided to crack. FML. I thought I was all caught up on getting my teeth worked on, and now I am betting I am going to have to have a crown put on.
Just to give you an idea of how bad my luck is:
(FTR-I floss, brush, and rinse every day. Twice a day on brushing and rinsing.)
When I was 12 one of my teeth became abscessed. I had to have a root canal. That was the most painful thing I have ever been through.
I have always had no-so-straight teeth. They were hideous. Especially my front teeth. I had braces put on and got my teeth whitened. They were so gorgeous, and for once I loved my smile. 2 years later I got my front teeth knocked out by a tennis racket. My teeth are no longer white and straight.
One of my back teeth had to have a root canal. Not even a week after the root canal, it broke and I had to have it pulled.
I had my wisdom teeth pulled almost 2 years ago. My upper teeth were not going to be a problem and my dentist (who I had been seeing for years) was certain they would not develop. Well, I went in for my checkup (new dentist) and they are now formed and I will have to get them pulled.
I told DH I just want to get veneers...or dentures lol.
I really hope our son does NOT get my teeth. DH has perfect teeth. He has only ever had one cavity. I've had a cavity on just about every tooth.
Re: I really hope my LO does not get my teeth (vent)
Yikes!
I have had bad teeth, but not that bad. I'm 25 years old and wear a partial denture because I was never going to have lateral incisors. My mom had the same problem, but her teeth grew together pretty straight. I had braces when I was 12, then they pulled the baby lateral incisors and fitted me with a partial denture for them.
Almost as soon as I was booted from my parents' insurance, my original partial broke (while I was cleaning it, I dropped it and one of the teeth popped off!) and I got to pay $450 to get a new one made. Ugh!
Since I still don't have dental insurance, I get to feel like an old lady and take my denture out at night until I can afford to have permanents put in.

I don't know how I pull off this awesome luck of mine. I haven't seen any new cavities pop up. I have had those ones for about 4 months or so (just got my dental insurance). I hope no more pop up.
This cracked tooth sucks right now because it keeps scratching my tongue. I hope they can get me in tomorrow.
I would LOVE for LO to have my teeth! I've never had a cavity in my life and still have my wisdom teeth (enough room that I don't need them pulled and they came out straight), no braces because teeth are straight.
And I never floss. Ever. Most nights I even forget to brush before going to bed. I'm terrible, but still - no problems!

I'm jealous!!! Can I have your teeth? lol
i had one of my front teeth knocked out too! & have a dentrue with just that tooth! i was going to get a bridge but they like would have to take out 2 of my other teeth just to fit it & my dentist said tht with the way my teeth were that the bridge could fall off & i would be stuck walking around with 3 missing teeth instead of one! so i said f*ck that! lol but now im waiting to get 1000 so i can have a perm tooth put in! i HATE this denture! but other then that i ALWAYS have cavities when i was younger i HATED brushing my teeth & as much as i try to floss & brush i still always get cavities! & my teeth are not straight but we never could afford braces! GL to you! i hope mines doesnt have my teeth either!
You are VERY lucky. I paid $170 (with insurance) to get 4 cavities filled. Now that one of them has broken, I am looking at forking out around $300. I know what you mean though, I feel guilty going to a dentist that I pay for, knowing he has a ton of work ahead of him.
I'm sorry I am not alone in my bad luck. I hope all of our LO's have better teeth luck than us!
