Yoga Babies?

Has anyone taken a mommy and me yoga class?  I'm considering taking one at Yoga Child on south street.  I have never done any yoga before (I do workout regularly though) and my dd isn't crawling yet but you never know when it could happen, just wondering if it's worth taking the class since she is already 7 months.

If you took a similar class, how old was your baby/and the other babies in the class and di you like the class?

Re: Yoga Babies?

  • I can't rec the mommy & me class in particular, but I did take a series of prenatal classes at Yoga Child, and I have to say that the staff there is wonderful and extremely welcoming. I'd never done any yoga before either, and the prenatal teachers were super patient and helpful.

I've been looking into the same classes you are (I'm pretty sad they don't work with my schedule-- I work Tuesdays and we'll be away too many Saturdays to make those classes worth it!). Maybe I'm just jealous that I can't, but I'd say go for it!! 7 months seems like a great age, all the info I read on the classes say babies of all ages are welcome, and your 7-month-old can't do anything more disruptive to class than a screaming 2 month old could! Plus, I wanted to take the classes mostly to meet other moms and get a workout in for me, so really the classes would be more for me than her anyway :)

If you're still unsure, give them a call. The staff are definitely willing to help you find the class that's best for you and would tell you if a 7 month old is "too old" for the mommy & me class.
