Babies: 3 - 6 Months

need your opinions - best car for baby??

so DH totaled my car the other day :( it was a nissan pathfinder that i JUST bought at christmas time. i LOVED it. the 4wd, leather, TRUNK SPACE, etc. it was wonderful. however, putting gas in it was not so great.

so obviously, i now need a new car. but i DONT KNOW WHAT TO GET! ahhh its so hard! i want something good on gas, SAFE, and easy to get LO in and out of (car seat wise) and i HAVE to be able to fit my graco travel system stroller in  the trunk AND the groceries.... at the same time

what do you drive and LOVE? why?

    I won't let DS get a license until he's 16, but that's just me.

Ba-dum bump. Thank you, I'll be here all night.

I have a BMW X3 and a Graco travel system, but the stroller does not fit in the back (if you want to add groceries as well.), but I've noticed that's it's hard to navigate a stroller throw my shopping area. So usually I will put DS in a baby carrier for now.

  • What is your budget?
  • we dont want to spend more than 15-16K

  • i just got a lexus rx350 and i love it for what I need right now. If you're looking at a lower price range, then I would check out the ford escape!
  • I have a Jeep Compass and I love it.  The Graco stroller fits in the back and I can put groceries in there, plus some in the backseat if need be.  I don't get to get big trips to the store cause I can't carry it all plus DS up the stairs to our condo.

I'm small - only 5'2 and I can get the carseat in and out just fine.

  • I have a jeep liberty and I love it. It takes some rotating, but I can get my eddie bauer travel system in the trunk standing up. There is still room for groceries. We are looking at trading it in and getting a jeep grand cherokee. More space but the same type vehicle.

  • It's not in your budget, but I recommend the Honda Pilot.  Third row seating that you can put down and it's great on gas (for a smal SUV) and roomy.  It doesn't drive like a SUV either...it's like your driving a sedan.

Ditto, I love my new Lexus RX350, but my mom just got a Ford Escape for around 15k.  It's a similar size and she loves it!

  • We have a Hyundai Santa Fe and love it. It's great on gas, has a killer warranty, and is roomy without being an enormous beast on the road. I can fit my stroller (though it's much smaller than a TS) plus groceries in the back.

You could easily find one that's just a year or two old in your price range.

  • My mom just got a Dodge Journey crossover. DD and I spent a week with her a few weeks ago and then drove 5 hours in it. It's AWESOME! Super roomy. We were able to fit all our luggage, DD's PnP, travel swing, travel system, and there was still plenty of room. I was also able to fit DD's super gigantic Britax Boulevard behind the passenger seat when it normally only fits in the middle on other cars.
