Uppababy Vista vs Bugaboo Frog please?

Hi,

I'm completely torn between these two strollers - we've already bought a Graco Snugride 22 for our new baby girl, but I'm completely undecided on these two strollers. Grandparents are buying the stroller so price is not a concern - but I'm worried about how long I'll be able to use it, and folding, and weight or the strollers since I'm a lightweight myself :)
Any thoughts or advice would be much appreciated!

  • To be honest, I am really partial to the Uppababy.  The basket space is tiny in the Frog, I know. The Uppababy has the largest basket space. Also, the Uppa comes with a separate bassinet so its easy to switch between the bassinet and the seat. The Frog will come with a separate frame and you will have to manually switch the fabric between the two seats. Also, you need to take the seat off the Frog in order to fold it. The Uppa can be folded with the seat on. If I were you I'd find a store nearby that had the Uppa and the Frog (or the Cameleon - they're similar) to try it out. That way you can see them in real life, see how they feel and look.

  • uppa.....for sure.
  • I have  Cameleon- which has a few more features then the Frog, but pretty much they are the same stroller. The Uppa does have a larger basket- and it does fold with the seat attached- however it will not fold if the seat is attached facing you.

I was up in the air between the Bugaboo and the Uppa, I LOVE LOVE LOVE my Cameleon- it pushes like a dream. The seperate basinett is a nice feature, but I really never used my basinett - I used the car seat adapter pretty much everywhere we went.

The Uppa has an adjustable handlebar- the Frog does not (the Cameolon offers that feature) but for me that was important.

They are both great strollers- it's just personal prefrence- I think the Bug is a bit more compact then the Uppa- the Uppa seems bulkier to me. But you really can't go wrong with either one.

I agree with this.  But, it really boils down to personal preference.  Go test them both out and get which ever you prefer.  Uppa won when my husband and I tested them together.

  • I have the frog and I love it...  it really isn't a big deal to take the seat/bassinet off.

  • thanks ladies - i guess i'll go try out both the uppa and the bug cam, which seems to be an improvement on the frog and take it from there!

  • We test-drove both and the Uppa won out easily.  The basket is a HUGE deal for me since I'm a shopper and the added step of having to remove the seat to fold would be a pain.  Plus, I actually prefer the look of the Uppa better.  But like PP's stated, they're both great strollers.

Be forewarned - the 2010 Vista is the "it" stroller(at least in the twin cities) and can take several months to order through local boutiques.

  • I have the Bugaboo Frog and LOVE IT, it was between that, the Uppa, the Bee and the BOB Rev for me.  The Frog won out. I couldn't be happier with our stroller and as far as the bassinet goes, we used it a handful of times, I prefer the car seat adapter over the bassinet, I'm sure many people might say the same about the Uppa's bassinet as well.  Just test them out, it is all personal preference like PP said.  I considered the Cameleon but the extra options it had were not worth an extra $300 IMHO.
