We took our LO to an eye doctor today, because we have noticed his left eye just wasn't tracking well. They found out he has Optic nerve Hypoplasia, meaning that it is underdeveloped and doesn't give a clear picture of what he is seeing to his brain. I am just in tears right now. From what little Information they gave me, and from what I can find, he won't ever have good vision in that eye if any at all. I am feeling so helpless right now. They scheduled him for an MRI in a week, and he has to go under anesthesia for it. Until then, we won't know the severity or really anything.
Re: DS's eye appt. Not so good news...
(((hugs)))
I know what you are going thru and i can imagine how helpless you feel. My daughter has nystagmus.... and was "legally blind" before surgery. Her sight has improved somewhat but she has been in glasses since she was 4mnths.
