So DH and I are in on helping host a couples baby shower for a friend in May. I have never been to one and I just assumed that a couples baby shower means a party with alcohol (why else would guys go??), baby gifts, etc. We had a couples wedding shower and it was a big party (which was a lot of fun!).
So tell me about yours. Was there alcohol? Was it an evening event? Day time event?
Thanks!
Re: NE1 have a couples baby shower?
Mine started at 7pm. It was a couple's shower. We opened the gifts by 9pm and danced until about 3:30am.
That's how I roll.
My feet were very unhappy the next day lol.
Oh, and I also meant to ask.... WHERE was it? At a friends house? restaurant?
Thanks!
I threw my sister one when she was pregnant and it was more like a party than a baby shower. We did have alcohol, and it was a lot of fun. We played some games, and the prizes were geared towards the guys, like BBQ utensils, beers of the world, Golfsmith GC ect... They actually seemed to have a good time!
Oh, and it was in the summer, so it started around 3 and went all night...
I didn't, but my cousin did. It was much more of a party/get together feel than a traditional baby shower. It was really fun! There was alcohol. One of the games was to have the guys chug a beer out of a bottle, first one done wins. It was actually a lot of fun and the guys didn't mind since the theme was non-baby (Halloween) and the games weren't really focused on a babies.
i did ... it was a bbq w/ wine/beer in the mid afternoon .. we skipped the games part.
i MUCH prefered it to a typical ladies only baby shower.
We had a co-ed baby shower too. It was in the summer so we did it later in the day when it was a little cooler out. It was in my parents back yard. There was alcohol, mainly beer and wine and a lot of food! We played a couple simple games, but it was very relaxed and only those who wanted to participate did. Sorry, I love games so we had to have some! All the guys thought it was funny to try and cut a piece of string they thought would be the size of my belly. Not so fun for me when they had strings that were twice my size, lol.
It was really fun and everyone seemed to have a good time.
