since yesterday afternoon I have been very short of breath and lightheaded. I have had it before due to anxiety but I dont feel anxious. Anyone else? I read that shortness of breath is normal...but kinda scary!
Shortness of breathe is normal. If you are taking progesterone the dizziness is a side effect. I get shortness of breathe a lot lately and am constantly dizzy!
I kinda had this yesterday but I think it was from being over tired.
p.s. My Dh was born and raised in Huntsville :-) His parents are still there.

All that increased blood flow going to the baby (or in your case babies) is probably the cause for the lightheadedness. I don't know what causes the shortness of breath, but it's definitely a pregnancy symptom. I can get winded just walking up the stairs sometimes, and I'm not at all like that when not pg.
When I have an orgasm, I get short of breath. I kind of figured it had to do with the uterus pushing up on my diapragm. In your situation, I would believe the increase in the amount of blood flow. Although probably not warranted, I would call your doc to ask. (I'm always overly conservative though)

I just got off the phone with my OB for this symptom (and tingling in the face), their best guess is that it's related to my body not loving all the extra blood flow right now. Their suggestion was to stay as hydrated as possible with fruit, smoothies or whatever I can keep down and keep track of it. If it gets worse or doesn't go away I get to go to urgent care. Fun.

I have experienced this so far, and I think that it could be a normal pregnancy symptom. However, if you start to have a really tough time breathing, I would call your doctor to be on the safe side.

I pretty much felt like I was having a heart attack once or twice a day up until about 13 weeks. Just couldn't breathe and felt light-headed. My doc said it has to do with the increase in the volume of blood the body pumps during pg. (Especially with a twin pg)
It's not fun but is pretty normal. I'd still mention it to your dr at your next appt.
