Relocating to SE Huntsville from ATL...

Good morningn ladies! I am relocating to the area in June for my husbands job and need some info on the SE Huntsville area. We are looking at homes near the RedStone Arsenal gate 3, right off of Memorial Pkwy.

We were just there this weekend to browse the area and I didn't notice any daycare centers. Where do you SE HUntsville ladies take your sweets for childcare? What about Pediatricians and OB/GYN's?

 TIA for your suggestions..

  • I'm not very familiar w/ SE huntsville.  You may check out Primrose @ Bailey Cove for pre-school/Day Care.

For OB/GYN - I highly recommend the Clinic for Women - I see Dr. Delisle there but all of the Drs are awesome (when you're pg, you go to a rotation and see all the drs)

for Pediatrician - I really love Dr. Ellis at the Huntsville Pediatrics Association.  Their office is open 7 days a week, 365 days a year for urgent care.  Again, I have met a few of the drs and  I love them all.

  • Welcome to HSV! I don't know too much about SE HSV but I can give some recs.

I second, Primrose of Bailey Cove. Also there are a lot of churches in that area that have day cares. Check that out. We used Trinity United Methodist CDC from 8wks to 1yr. Then we moved to Madison.

We use Field Pediatrics off of Balmoral (sp?) Dr. which is off Airport Rd. I love and highly recommend them! They are a husband/wife team. My favorite perk about them is that they have a sick child walk-in time in the mornings first thing, no appts needed. Great staff too!

For OB/GYN, I second Clinic for Women as well. I go to Dr. Rushing but have seen them all. You can choose your primary doctor but you will do rounds with each of them at some point. My primary doctor did not deliver my DD but the one who did was great too.

    Good luck and welcome!

  • Welcome!  I don't know much about day care options, but I've heard good things about Trinity.

I also go to Clinic for Women.  Dr. Bellmont is my Dr and I love him, but Dr Wheeler is my fave there.  There are several Dr's in that practice and what I love is that they have like 3 different locations they can see you at.  The closest to that area would be the Crestwood office though.

Our pedi is in Madison so that won't help you much.  I know I'm crazy to drive all the way for a pedi, but that's just who I chose when my DD was born and I just never changed.

If you need a realtor, check out Ashleigh Greene with Weichert.  She helped sell our house recently and has worked with several of our friends.  She is awesome!!!
