bru vent/score + convertible seat question

I went up to Greenwood today to BRU to buy O's convertible seat.  They wouldn't let me stack different coupons, but said, "sometimes we're allowed to do it and sometimes we're not."  Indifferent  Wrong response.

So I vented to the manager and ended up being able to use both coupons (another $40 off).   After coupons and gift cards, I paid $60.  Woot!!!  I ended up getting the Evenflo Symphony 65 and we'll probably get a Cosco Scenera for travel.

Does anyone else have either one of these seats?

Re: bru vent/score + convertible seat question

  • You have better luck than me, BRU managers never help me.

We have the scenera.  It's nice and light and what we used when we went to FL.

  • We have the Scenera and a Britax Marathon.  DS lurves his Marathon, but we only use the Scenera on short trips a few times a month.  We learned the hard way that it is NOT as comfy as the luxurious Britax.   DS always fussed when he was in it, and once we tried it on a trip (5 hours) and I felt awful when we got here.  DS had welts on his neck and chest from the straps.  No wonder he screamed the entire way home!  We bought some of those add-on strap pads, but he still complains.  But for short trips every now and then, you can't beat the price and safety ratings.

    GL!

  • That's a great buy!!  I don't have either of these seats but am looking for another seat for DH's car.  What coupons did you stack to get such an amazing deal?

  • We love our Symphony 65...my only complaint is that I have no room to move my seat back any more in the Explorer with his car seat in the rear passenger seat.  It's a HUGE seat!!!

Thanks for the feedback!  I was a little worried about the size, but it seems to fit ok in our Volvo.  I figure it will be a little more incentive for us to agree on an SUV to purchase.

That's a really good point on the Scenera.  I anticipate only using it when we fly, so I don't think we would use it for driving long distances, but something to think about.

I used a 20% off one item + the coupon on the upper right corner of this ad...link.  The manager took the $40 off even though the seat was $199 before tax and before the other coupon.  I think she just wanted me out of there.  LOL!  I had 2 gift cards + a merchandise credit from a returned shower item.

  • We have the Scenera for DH's truck.  We needed something small since the backseat in his truck is very tiny.  It's a great seat for the price!
  • BRU had signs up maybe in Feb that read something to the effect of they would no longer be able to combine the 20% off one item with other coupons.  I just lay all my coupons down and see what scans.

We have a Scenera (sp) in my mom's car, I don't like it compared to our Marathon but it gets the job done.

  • I have the evenflo symphony 65 and Evie LOVES it.  Its really easy to install and easy to get her in and out of.  She loves that she sits up more and can see out the window.
