Pumping a lot more on one side???

Hi Ladies,

I pump after DS's first morning feeding in order to start my freezer stash, and I have consistently been getting 4oz from the left breast and only 2 from the right, no matter which one I started with for the feeding.  Is this normal?  Any way to "even it out," or should I just not worry about it?  TIA!

  • I've always had one produce more than the other--I think it's pretty normal.

    same

  • Even now, I get 4-5 oz from righty and 1-2 from lefty and DS is 10.5 months.

  • My right side produces twice what my left one does.  And that is every time I pump.

  • Right now my left is giving me double what the right side is.

Sadly It's not even close to as much as you.  It's usually 1oz left and 0.5oz right... But it's something.

  • Don't worry about it.  Everybody I know has one that produces way more than the other.  I know I do.
  • Shoot, I am only getting 2.5 to 3 oz on both sides combined! I definitely get more from my right side, but for some reason LO has always preferred the left side, so I wonder if he nurses better on that side and then I am able to pump more from the right.
