My 16 month old daughter can undo the buckle of her car seat. WTH am I supposed to do?
I found out by accident today, because just by chance I sat in the back seat with her. I watched her undo the buckle (quite easily, like she had done it 100 times before), clap for herself and then re-buckle. I thought maybe it hadn't been properly fastened when I put her in or something, so I checked the buckle and then watched as she did it again.
She is still rear-facing in a MyRide 65. Anyone have any advice???
ETA:
Once I realized that she truly was undoing the buckle, I obviously stopped her from repeating it
Re: Car seat advice needed
are the straps really tight enough? Because I'm having a hard time seeing a 16 month old be able to undo the chest clip if it's properly positioned and tight enough.
We have that same car seat, and I know Kennedy would not be able to get it undone unless it was lower on her body than it should be. And she can't lower it because the straps hold it too tightly.
I could meet you sometime this week and take a look if you'd like.
I am confident that the straps are tight enough, and that the clip is properly positioned.
1. I am fairly anal about carseat safety (hence the reason I don't want to turn her FF)
2. We recently had our car seat installation and usage checked at a safety clinic.
It requires her using both hands, but she can definitely do it quite easily.
Any suggestions?

you can try putting a button or zip up shirt on her for in the car, and then closing the shirt over the clip.
Or putting the rough side of a velcro strip on the clip. Many kids don't like the feel of it, so they'll leave it alone.
But if the straps are truly tight enough, the chest clip being unbuckled isn't a super big deal. Most European seats don't even have chest clips.
