Haven't nailed down a girl name yet but if we do go with Amelia what do you think a good nickname would be? Can you derive Emily from Amelia?

This. I don't consider those nicknames. The only person I have ever known IRL named 'Amelia' just went by her full name.

For a mn, what about Amelia Rae? Amelia Grace is cute, too.

I know an Amelia whose nickname is Mia, which I think is cute.

I think Grace, Jane, Rose, Claire, Pearl, Hope.. any simple 1 syllable name would make a nice middle name.

If this baby's a girl, her name will be Am?lia, and I think if she gets a nickname from me it'll be Mimi...but I'm not big on giving nicknames to ppl, my 4 year old's name is Ainslee and really I don't think there's any nicknames you could derive from that. As for middle names, originally we had picked Am?lia Grace, but we changed it to Am?lia Kathleen in honour of my late grandmother.

Emily and Leah are full names and not nicknames for Amelia. The only Amelia I know goes by Amelia. I like Amelia Jane the best of the middle names. Marie, Rose and Grace are really popular filler middle names.

I know 3 Amelia's (2 are children). One goes by Amelia, one Millie, and one Amy.

I know an Amelia she typically just goes by Amelia, but is also called Melia, just drop the A. ?And if we're really in a hurry it's Mels - pronounced Meals. ?I kind of get Leah for a nickname - but I would spell it Lia.

My vote is for Amelia Jane with the nn Mia. Not a fan of the others. Those nn you mentioned are all names on their own (except IMO for Ami, which is a misspelling).
