Babies: 0 - 3 Months

And the worst parents award goes to...

Us.  DH apparently turned the monitor off so that I could sleep a little yesterday.  He never told me he turned it off.  Well, Cadie had issues going to sleep, so when I finally got her to go down at 2 am, I went to bed.  We woke up this morning to realize that DH, in his sleep-deprived state last night, had forgot to turn the monitor back on.

I feel absolutely horrible that my baby could have been crying for me across the house and I never heard her.  She was fine this morning, but I have definitely learned my lesson.  Make sure you check the monitor before you go to bed!

  • We did this once too and only woke up with DS was screaming from his crib.  I felt horrible!  But the good news: there doesn't appear to be any permanent damage! Stick out tongue

Give yourself a break.  They call this the trenches for a reason.  And think of it this way - now you're not sleep deprived (or less so) and your DD is still okay!

  • She's okay and your more rested. It happens you aren't the worst parent!! I can make you feel better. The other day I locked LO my keys and my cell phone in the car at Walmart. I thought I'd opened the door all the way so I threw all my stuff in the seat next to him but when I shut my door the momentum combined with the incline I was parked on latched the door just enough that it locked!! Thankfully I was able to use a paserbys phone and DH only works 5 min from the walmart!! We all do stupid stuff when sleep deprived!

  • Oh GOSH, I'm not alone!! We did this last night!!! DD got up to eat at 4 a.m and I always turn the monitor down while I go to her room so that hubby doesn't have to hear us in her room...well I was so sleepy I forgot to turn it back up and I passed out. I woke up at 6:55 and looked over at the video monitor and I could see her freaking..I jumped up and ran to her room and she had snot all over her face and her hair was soaked from crying...omygod I felt horrible!!!! I have no clue how long she cried for:( I feel like the worst mom ever..I haven't stopped snuggling her today....from now on I will not turn the monitor down at all!!!
