We just purchased one of these and I was curious if anyone on here had one??? they got great reviews and DS has such shallow breath sounds that I figured it might help with my piece of mind : )
I had one with DS, and we loved it. Although once he started rolling and moving around we got alot of false alarms! It was a heart attack at 3 a.m, let me tell ya! But up untill then it was a great peice of mind! Then we invested in a video monitor and put it up so close that I could actually see his face twitch or chest move..that helped me get a better nights sleep!
We have it and love it. We've had 2 false (we think) alarms, but we still use it every night. He is pretty mobile in the crib and we still have the sensitivity turned down. Once he moves from one end of the crib to another we will have to turn it up. Make sure you put a thin board under your mattress to put it on. If you don't you will get more false alarms...which are scary!
I have one and I don't even use it. I used it when DS first came home from the hospital but I constantly checked on him wondering if the thing was working. It made me worry more. As it turns out we don't need a sound monitor in our house so it never gets used.
We have one and LOVE it! It definitely gives us peace of mind while DS is sleeping/napping.
The main reason we bought one was because DS stopped breathing the first night he was born. I knew I would get no sleep if we didn't have this monitor. No false alarms as of yet.
