NPgALR: If you have a small kitchen come in

What the heck do you do for space!? We have one double cabinet and three singles. There are 4 cabinets below and one double that has under the sink stuff. There's only one small wall to do anything.

I need storage space!!!!!! Any recommendations? We're renting a townhouse so it can't be too drastic.

TIA

Re: NPgALR: If you have a small kitchen come in

  • We have a very small house in general, but the kitchen is not as small as it could be.  I would call it a 10x10 area.  We have two double cabinets hung on the wall, one cabinet under the sink, one double cabinet below the counter and one skinny cabinet.  I have a pantry to use for our foodstuffs, but when it comes to storing kitchen essentials, you have to be pretty creative.  If you do have a pantry, you can hang racks on the inside of the door?

We bought a baker's rack that has several shelves, and I bought some containers that hold miscellaneous items, that sit on the bottom of the baker's rack.  I also bought a long and tall kitchen cabinet from JCPenney (through the catalog/internet) that sits in the corner.  They actually have a pretty good selection of stand-alone kitchen furniture to use.  Do you have a Container Store in your area?  They have an amazing amount of organizational items that could help.

I have also found (with a small house) that some things just need to go into storage in our basement.  If we don't use it on a regular basis, then it gets stored somewhere out of sight.  To store all of my clothes, I will have to use closets both in the basement and attic!

    I wish you luck!
