I just started the Self.com challenge which has you track workouts and meals/snacks. I've never done this before, and the meal tracker is really cumbersome! None of the things I eat are on there, so I have to add in the calories, fiber, carbs, and protein on each thing I eat! I guarantee I give this up after a couple days. The workout tracker is really cool, though! It even calculated my points for my walking my dog today!
Re: Weight Watchers: how do you do it???
Okay, I'll just hope it gets easier! I guess it will once I've manually input all the foods I eat regularly-then you just click "add" and it adds it in. Thanks for the advice!
Are you asking about Weight Watchers, or the Self.com program? I've used both in the past and find the WW tool much more user-friendly. I did the Self one more recently (because it was free), and did find it cumbersome at the beginning... So I just spent some time inputting all the things I eat on a regular basis, and then it was much easier. I would sometimes even enter the foods I was going to eat ahead of time, and then it would give me motivation to stick to eating those foods.
Good luck!
I'm doing Self.com, but the other day I asked if anyone had done it and no one had, so I thought the most comparable thing to ask about is WW since I know that a lot of bumpies do WW.
Yes, I figure it will get easier once I input all the info. To be honest, I like the one you pull out of the magazine and just write onto it better. I'm doing it more to hold myself accountable to working out and being healthier rather than tracking every single calorie/carb/gram of fiber. I hope it works. Thanks for the advice!
I do WW online, and it is easy. Many of the brand-name foods are in the tracker already. One of the main components is fruits/veggies - which are all in the tracker (broke out by servings, pounds, ounces, cups, etc so you get an accurate point total).
Things that are not in the tracker can easily be added by putting in the calories/fat/fiber - then it is saved so you never have to manually add it again. It also allows you to enter recipes so you can more easily find out the total for something home-made.
I've not tried self.com but from the sounds of it - ww is easier.
