The meteor in the midwest, the volcanic eruption in Iceland, all the earthquakes? Anyone worried about the movie 2012 becoming real???

    ..Not really since its only 2010 :D And uh..We took our calendar from the Mayans yes..however we added months to their calendar.. So technically the mayan 2012 should have happened already thus..we're gunna be fine..

    Between 2012 y2k and all the other times the world was supposed to end its getting absurd.. Confused

    Haha, not so much about the movie 2012 becoming real... but it is a bit scary. We're mostly worried about earthquakes out here in California.

    That's pretty deep stuff. I'm not worried though. I just don't see the point of worring about natural disasters because there's nothing you can do about them, you know? I guess I just think whatever is meant to be will be.

    No! There are earthquakes all the time, of the same magnitude, they just happen in places that are un-populated (or low in population) so they don't make it into mainstream media. And volcanoes erupt every so often, so it's not a big deal (weather-wise, I know it's a big deal for everyone who wants to fly!) I'm an Earth Science teacher though, so I've spent the last week trying to convince my students the world isn't coming to an end :)
