I'm probably being way overprotective.....but my doc said not even to take her to public places until she was 6 weeks..anyhow, LO's christening gown is on hold at the mall and I thought we'd go pick it up today. Then I start thinking, are you crazy? It's a rainy Saturday--it's going to be PACKED there!! Is this a bad idea or would you still take your 6 1/2 week old to a busy mall????
(side note-my mom is going to come with us if we go)
Re: 6 1/2 week old-Ok to take to Mall?
Ok --thanks.
I knew I was probably being a bit overprotective....I know I can't keep her in a bubble!
Go! I can't believe you haven't taken her out yet - I'd be going stir-crazy in the house for 6 weeks. We've been shopping since LO was 2 wks old. He's just fine, just don't let anyone touch her.
This, absolutely! The 6-week-rule is decidedly old-fashioned. Baby can go out as soon as mom feels like leaving the house. But again, just try to keep strangers from touching her (harder than you might think--I wear DS in a carrier whenever we're out, but that doesn't stop complete strangers from GRABBING HIS FEET! Ahhh! I have to put socks on him now even though he hates them...)
this exactly
I would take her, just keep her in the stroller/carseat and put a blanket ovefr the top to keep her covered.
Have fun and dont stress!
I took my four-week-old yesterday.
She slept in her car seat, I shopped, and I mostly kept the seat covered with a receiving blanket. A couple of clerks asked to see her, so I flipped the blanket up so they could oooo and ahhhh.
So yes, I'd take her. But I try to avoid the mall on busy days anyway, just b/c I hate dealing with crowds, especially when I've got a stroller.
